I never got my high school senior photos professionally done because I was too nervous about getting my photo taken. I wasn’t a model, I had never had professional photos before (besides those overly posed school and sports ones) and I didn’t want ones of me sitting there with my back straight as a board, holding that fake ear-to-ear smile that I had perfected through all my years of showing horses.
I’ve always had an obsession with photography and right up until I actually had to go get mine done, I looked through hundreds of professional senior photographers. I loved (and still do) all those strikingly glamorous shots that end up looking like works of art and I wanted genuine, enjoyable moments, but I didn’t think I could have both.
I look to capture those genuinely remarkable shots while creating a fun, empowering experience.
As someone who has been shy her entire life, I know how it feels being on the other side of the camera and having that little panic attack and feeling nervous about looking pudgy or whatever the insecurity. In my work, I strive to bring out the happiness, confidence, and love in everyone who steps in front of my lens.
Especially when it comes to weddings, my job is to capture those moments you are never going to want to forget. I have found that perfect balance between elegance and fun. I strongly believe that the photos shouldn’t be on your list of things to worry about during your day. With my personally designed wedding day kit, I do everything in my power to take away your stress and not add to it.
