Simpson College S.A.R.A podcast:
Everyone knows sexual violence is a problem on college campuses, yet no one really talks about male sexual assault victims. Simpson College's Sexual Assault Response Advocates, S.A.R.A., members Tristan Carman and Susan Alt talked with me about what sexual assault is, what S.A.R.A. is, what males' roles are in this all and how we can create open conversation with everyone.
S.A.R.A. suggests students think of consent as a cup of tea. If someone says they do want tea, then they want tea. If they change their mind while you're making the tea and they don't want tea, don't make them drink the tea.
If you're still unclear on consent, you could think about it like a bike ride. Put on your helmet, kid. If you have to convince someone to go on a bike ride with you, that doesn't mean they want to go with you.
